Trees company

Above are my latest additions to my Tree series of prints. A few popular images have a new colour way and they are all available in various sizes from undersized A4 to A0. I'm currently working on a shopfront as part of the Big Cartel site and that should be open for business soon.

From top to bottom their titles are: Raven's Seat 2, Silverwood 3, Standing Giant 3, The Green, The Levels 3, The Roost 3 and The Sentinels.

Y is for Yellowfin...

...and Yvonne, Yasmine, Yoko and Yarin. It's also my submission for an A-Z collective show at Unlimited Editions in Brighton, as part of their Open House event in May and the Brighton Festival - weekends from 5th to 27th. The two colour, A4 screen print is actually portrait in format and a limited edition of 50.

High5 to Design Supremo

Online print emporium that is Design Supremo, aka Ben and Chris, is five years old this year and they kindly invited five artists to create an artwork on the theme of High5. My contribution features a pod of Killer Whales. Illustrator Andy Smith and myself travelled to Bob Eight Pop screen printers in E10 London where the single colour, A2 prints were expertly printed. They will be available from Design Supremo as a series of limited edition screen prints.

Super superficial T

The home of contemporary T-shirt printing is Super superficial. They asked to use my 'Brilliance' design of a scarlet macaw to become this month's new T. Sign up soon for a subscription and you will receive this design for a discounted price.

Riso Happy

Colour Zoo is my new series of images - Red Fox, Black Bear, Green Tree Python, Pink Flamingo, Blue Whale and Yellowfin Tuna. Their single colours have meant they lend themselves well to being printed as Risograph prints. Each print is A3 and printed onto Munken Lynx smooth white paper at 240 gram. Each design is a limited edition of 30 and will cost £10. The series will be applied to greeting cards and screen prints soon.

The Risograph is an environmentally friendly and cost effective printing method which uses soy based inks to produce unique results. Each print has imperfections, but this is the appealing nature of a risograph print and it's basic method of printing.

Old Money Bags

Well, that's exactly what they are and colourful ephemera delights also. I popped in to Present & Correct and got a packet. The basic printing and papers used are worth viewing.

One, two, tree

For this Spring I have created three new Tree towels. New colours - gold, dark grey and black have been given to existing designs and added the image Raven's Seat to the range. Made in the UK, the towels are from high quality cotton and screen printed in one colour and are available now.

Cushion of colour

Geometric patterns seem to be in right now and I couldn't resist this little number from John Lewis. It's multi coloured magic certainly stood out amongst the barbours, occasional tables and made to measure curtains.

Bin there, done that

If you need any help on searching for a vintage bread bin, I'm your man. Found this beauty on ebay and now all my bread keeping fresh worries have been solved. This particular piece of kitchen enamelware is Polish.

What a Puffin Picture

A Book of Insects was just one of a fascinating, beautifully illustrated, colourful and educational series of books for children, first published at the start of the Second World War by Puffin. The series developed through the war years and beyond and is now collected avidly.
