Favourite studio object

Joe Madeira, founder of the newly opened London Gallery The Art Cabin is currently putting together artist's biog pages that feature the transcript from recent interviews. Just thought I'd share one answer to a question - What is your favourite studio object? - my studio is peppered with Britains plastic Zoo animals and my favourite find was a boxed African Elephant with wooden tusks from the 1960s - actually the box is quite a find also.

Ice Hound

Banish winter blues, embrace the big freeze and meet Ice Hound. He's a four colour hand pulled screen print that I've had for some time and was the inspiration behind my Woolf cushion.

This limited edition print is now available in my shop unframed and keeping warm in a plan chest.

Summer Fox, Winter Fox

The Arctic Fox is one of the few animals that changes the colour of it's pelt to adapt to the changing seasons and environment. My next new, two sided cushion design plays with this theme and features my Fox design in Summer red and Winter white.

Gold Bear, Silver Bear

Artwork has been sent to the printer and producer of the next cushion design for the new year. 'Gold Bear, Silver Bear' will be very similar to my first bear cushion design but printed in a warm yellow and slate grey.

Mug Fest

I had to get hold of a Festival Mug from Howkapow created by Jansen + Co who are a young dutch design company founded by Anouk Jansen and Harm Magis. They design and produce functional table top products. 

Very Unlimited Christmas

Sara Morrissey at Unlimited Editions is still open during The Open Art House event in Brighton. A selection of my work is available including an exclusive Ice Hound print and many more designs. Pop along this weekend for a bit of cheer and gift spotting today and tomorrow 11-5 plus the tail end of next week too.

Bonnet shot

This yellow leaf lay sprawled about the bonnet of a blue car one bright Autumn day - you can't miss an opportunity like this, so I got out my iphone and snapped it.

Birds eye view

The mini series of gull prints have been added to my online shop including soon close ups of the screen prints, as I believe it's always handy to see them up close, but colours will vary from what is seen on screen.
